Emma Elizabeth Cox, 22, Durand, IL died at 7:12 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at home after a long illness.
Born on July 13, 1994 in DeKalb, IL the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory E. And Theresa J. (Svitavsky) Cox. Graduated from Durand High School, Class of 2012 and Augustana College in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  She was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the crew team and choir at Augustana College.  She volunteered at Hoo Haven and the animal shelter at Augustana College.
Survivors include her parents, Greg and Theresa Cox, Durand, IL; sister Maegen (Daniel) Hoffman, Pecatonica, IL; brother Ian (Kendra) Cox, Lake Summerset, IL; nieces Hailey and Paige; nephew Owen and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Nathan James.
Memorial ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 412 N Church Street, Rockford, IL with The Reverend Andria Skornik officiating. Visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home-Rockton Chapel, 767 N Blackhawk Blvd, Rockton, IL from 4-8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, 2016.  Cremation rites will be accorded.  Final resting place will be in Resurrection Garden.
