Frasco to attend Chicago Bears workout

Senior Sam Frasco’s chances of making the NFL are higher than before. Teams across the Midwest are interested in his talents after he attended a football camp.
On March 8, Frasco attended a football camp at Northwestern University that drew in athletes of all calibers to see who were some of the top wide receiver prospects.
The level of competition didn’t distract Frasco from his goal.
“There were a lot of Division I guys there,” Frasco said. “I didn’t really look around that much. I wanted to stay within myself and not get psyched out. So I really focused on me and what I had to get done. It went pretty well but it was pretty nerve wracking.”
At the start of the camp, Frasco competed with 40 other athletes for a spot in the final round of the camp. The camp made the participants run a 40-yard dash to decide who would stay for the rest of the time. Frasco did well enough to make the cut, running a fast 40-yard dash to earn a spot amongst  only 12 other athletes. After that, the camp participants were put into other events that were designed to test their  speed and “cutting ability.”
Although Frasco was a quarterback during his time at Augustana, he’s spent time under the tutelage of a wide-reciever trainer to prepare for these camps.
About two weeks after the camp, Frasco was approached by a Chicago Bears recruiter, who invited him to a private workout on April 14.
Frasco said he was feeling “really excited” about the private workout but is going in with the focused mentality that he’s used to preparing for all these high performance opportunities.
While Frasco has a special workout with the Chicago Bears, he’s also being considered by other teams in the Midwest, as well as the Arizona Cardinals.
“(At the training camp) I talked to the Bears’ guy, I talked to the Bills, and then I talked to the Cardinals again.”
Recently, Frasco hired an agent who set him up with an opportunity to impress another major NFL team: the Minnesota Vikings.
“I just had to hire an agent actually, which was a pretty cool process,” Frasco said. “But he was telling me that I would probably be getting invited to the Minnesota Vikings tryo0ut as well. I don’t know when that is, but he’s (my agent) putting something together right now.
Even though Frasco has many opportunities to play in the NFL, there’s one team that he is hoping to play for the most: the Chicago Bears.
“Any one of the teams would work, but obviously growing up a Bears fan, I would have to go with the Chicago Bears,” Frasco said. “It would truly be a dream come true.”
Frasco expressed how much his dream is becoming a reality when only a year and a half ago, the possibility of playing in the NFL wasn’t even on his mind. While the reality of playing in the NFL is close, there’s still a long way for Frasco to go to making his dreams a reality.
